My name is Bren

I am a passionate tutor based in Adelaide, Australia committed to helping students excel in Math, English and Sciences.
 

Over the past four years, starting all the way back in Year 11, I’ve been providing one-on-one private tutoring, completing over 500 sessions with students from Year 2 all the way to senior high school. In that time, I’ve helped students significantly improve their grades, build real academic confidence, and successfully gain entry into competitive high schools through IGNITE, scholarship programs and selective entry tests.

Alongside my private tutoring, I have also worked in group tuition centres, where I taught classes of mixed-ability students in fast-paced environments. While this experience helped sharpen my teaching skills, it also highlighted something important: many students struggle to keep up in group settings. The pace often moves too quickly, questions go unanswered, and quieter students easily fall behind. That’s why I’m so passionate about personalised learning, because I’ve seen firsthand how much more effective it is when students get individual support tailored to their needs.

My approach is simple: make learning clear, engaging, and practical. I break down complex ideas into easy, understandable steps and adapt each lesson to match the student’s learning style, goals, and pace. Outside of tutoring, I’m big on fitness and travelling—interests that have shaped my discipline, problem-solving skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure. I bring that same mindset into my lessons to help students stay motivated, focused, and confident.
